Throwback Classic

The Anaheim Ducks have been hosting the annual President’s Day weekend Throwback Classic since 2010. The Throwback Classic Hockey Tournament has grown exponentially from 4 teams in the inaugural season to 100 teams in 2017. As one of the largest 5-on-5 ice hockey tournaments in North America, the Throwback Classic has hosted teams from 25 different states and three countries.

The 2020 tournament took place Presidents Day Weekend, February 14th-17th at Great Park Ice and Anaheim Ice. Thank you to all teams and players that attended the 10th Annual Throwback Classic!

New This Year

The 10th Annual Throwback Classic Adult Hockey Tournament presented by Pure Hockey will be made up of thirteen divisions, with no more than six teams in each division. This will allow for more competitive play and an increased chance at winning the championship.

Participants and families will be invited to the Throwback Classic Welcome Party, taking place at Pure Hockey on Thursday, February 13th.

The Throwback Classic has also partnered with a host hotel - Courtyard by Marriott Irvine Spectrum - to offer discounted room rates to tournament participants.

Finally, players will have access to an exclusive Player Hospitality Lounge located at Great Park Ice!

The Throwback Classic is giving back to youth hockey. This year, proceeds from the Throwback Classic will go towards the Anaheim Ducks Foundation’s youth hockey programs. These youth hockey programs include Anaheim Ducks S.C.O.R.E., Learn to Play, and Top Flight.

By competing in the 2020 Throwback Classic, you will be giving students, first-time hockey players, and participants with special needs the opportunity to learn the game.

The Anaheim Ducks Alumni will also be making a donation to the United Heroes League. The UHL has provided over $3 Million worth of free sports equipment, game tickets, and skill development camps to military families across the US & Canada.
